What Exactly Is The Difference Between an Attorney And A Lawyer? -

I ve often wondered this. Is there any major or even minor difference between the two, or are they just two titles for the same thing.

They are the same thing, just like counselor or barrister. Incidentally, the letters Esq. (Esquire) after a persons name means Attorney also.

In the US the to terms refer to exactly the same thing. In other countries, there may be differences.

Theoretically, an attorney is licensed while a quot;lawyerquot; is someone who studies and is knowledgable of the law. In practice, however, the two terms are interchangable.

nothing! they are the same thing but just go by more than one name

same thing
