How could I find a lawyer that handles military medical appeals? -

I have a lot of medical problems and they all happened while I was on active duty in the military, and I am having problems getting the proper rating, because it is hard for me to work. I recently had back surgery and they don t want to compensate me for it along some other conditions.

Call the VA there is a toll free number on the VA website. you are entitled to a free attorney. I did this and I know what I m talking about. Got rating, knew it wasn t right, called to get info about a free attorney, I selected a DAV rep. you have others to choose form and pick the one you like. basically once you select your free attorney you give them power of attorney to have access to your medical records, as well represent you in at the appeals board.. They take it from there. After I did that I did not hear back from them for almost 2 years, BUT the next time I heard from them they told me to check my bank account. I received back pay for every last month, and my rating was changed to %100. It takes time but be patient. Good Luck It may be harder now, I don t know do many of our troops coming back disabled, it s so very sad. Good Luck

Google, yahoo search, ask jeeves... iow, a search engine, or a phone book.

Call your state bar association. They should have some recommendations for you.
