How can I find a good pro bono lawyer? -

My brother is currently serving a 30 year sentance for a home invasion. The crime was never commited. I am looking for an appeals lawyer but do not have the money for attorney fees. They can be real expensive. If anybody knows of anything that would help me please let me know.

Contact your local bar association. You can also try contacting the local Innocence Institute, if there is one. But they get innundated with requests and can only take on a handful of cases.

legal aide..it also doesn t hurt to contact some lawyer s offices and see if they know of anyone willing to do pro bono work and maybe talk to some court appointed lawyers and see what they suggest.
