Is it wise to buy a home without a lawyer? -

My husband and I are purchasing a home, and we are kind of strapped for money, the lawyer just seems to be added expense... are we being foolish?

It depends upon the state that you are purchasing the property. In CA lawyers are not used, however in most states what is important is the issuance of title and the searching and issuance of the deeds. In California the difference is this is done by Escrow companies and then they issue title insurance. My suggestion, its one of those Penney wise decisions and a real estate purchase is a major investment and I would interview multiple attorneys who do real estate and follow there guidance.

No, as far as i know, you must have a lawyer to prepare sth like the deed unless the contract is void, that means all the legal rights / liabilities will still remain to the seller.

NO. U need a lawyer, he helps with all the paper work and the serches

Unless you are quite familiar with law related matters, very not advisable to. If anything goes wrong, it may cost you more than engaging a lawyer. But, buying a home without an agent is alwasy good to do. They don t do much job, actually.

You can get the forms yourself. Maybe if you know anyone that is a lawyer you can just ask them to give you a bit of help.
