Should i get a lawyer to represent me for an accident i had when i was 7 weeks pregnant? -

I was in an accident last week, I was hit from behind by a Waste Manement dump truck and hit two other cars on the freeway, my car was totaled. I am also pregnant. Many of my friends and family members told me to get a lawyer to get some money of the BI part. I really wasn t hurt but when I went to the doctor they couldn t really check if the baby was ok because I was only 7 weeks pregnant and they said it was too early to even hear a heartbeat. My adjustor said that they are going to leave the BI claim open due to what the doctor said. I had called a lawyer before and she told me to wait it out because once you get a lawyer involved it makes it a mess. Should I get a lawyer?

Right now, you have nothing to claim. You said you have had no bodily injury and it is still uncertain your child does. Getting a lawyer at this point would be a waste of time. If the baby is found to have complications and the doctor suggests it could be from the accident, then get a lawyer. In the meantime, don t sign any settlements or waivers concerning bodily injury from the insurance company until you know more about the baby s condition.

Well I guess that really depends on what kinda person you are. You said it yourself that you weren t really hurt and your pregnancy is in such early stages that you cant know if anything is wrong with it. All I know is that my Mom and Dad are being sued right now by someone who was jumping on a trampoline a few weeks ago but she claims to have such horrible back problems because she was in the car when someone else hit them from the side! Go figure, They get sued for an accident that wasn t even their fault and to top it off the girl isn t even really hurt. This was supposed to be a family friend but now she has dollar signs in her eyes! Go figure! It takes a special kinda person to pursue a frivolous lawsuit.

Yes, get a lawyer, but the thing is that you can t settle right then and there unless you settle out of court. The thing is, if anything is wrong with your child, you can sue them for what happened. After..6 years I think it was... if anything is wrong with the child then you can bring it to their attention and sue them. By anything, I mean anything that could be contributed to the crash. Brain damage, strange things with limbs or bones or ligaments, etc. But above all that money, think of your child.

Only if you want money. The adjustor OF COURSE, doesn t want you to have a lawyer. Don t listen to them. They are working in THEIR best interests, not yours.

yes do it.

Wow...the dollar signs are already dancing in your eyes. You seem to care very little about your baby and a whole heck of a lot about your bank account. Good to know your baby will get good strong morals from his mother.
