Is double majoring in political science and chemical biology at Berkeley helpful in becoming a patent lawyer? -

I want to attend Stanford for my JD, and I am planning my undergraduate program, which I want to sustain in Berekely.

That s fantastic. You should have no problem.* *As long as you maintain the grades. Over 3.8.

If you want to do patent work, you only need the science undergrad degree. Taking the poly sci is unnecessary, and is virtually useless in any way. It doesn t help you get in to law school. Electrical Engineering is probably the most in-demand IP law undergrad right now. Engineering majors are generally more attractive than biochem majors for patent work, just because less engineers go to law school.

Yes. I m sure that would be attractive on your resume as drug companies are in constant need of patent defense.
