The other answers are pretty good advice, but the answer to your initial question is yes, you can become a lawyer or an architect with a BSN in nursing. I think a BSN in nursing is a great option actually, you have an automatic job and I think everyone should know the basics of healthcare. Law school is just like they said above, requires ANY bachelors degree and a high LSAT score. For architecture, it s actually more common for folks to pursue their master s in architecture, since it s not a common undergrad major. For the master s, I m pretty sure you can major in anything and they ll teach you everything from the beginning. Although architecture is a pretty specialized field and you do need to have good drawing skills and love to draw. BSN - 4 years (traditionally). Law school - 3 years, Architecture - 2 years (masters).
Why would you get a Bachelors in Nursing if you want to be an architect or a lawyer? Get a Bachelors in either Political Science/English or Architecture. Salaries for lawyers vary GREATLY depending on your specialty, years of experience, and clientele. There are tons of lawyers that are barely getting by financially. Architecture- I don t know. If you had a successful private business, that might work out for you. If you were working for someone, I don t think that would be profitable. Google. Do not major in nursing if you have no plans or desire to be a nurse. That s a waste of four years and money.
If you plan to earn your BSN, most likely you will be a sure candidate for Law school because all you need to enter is a bachelors degree and proof that you can think critically. A nurse degree will allow you to be that. Law school love to accept health professionals to their school who can think and can take the rigorous coursework of law school. As for being an architect, it s a different approach and you may have to start over so a BSN just might be a waste of time considering it requires a lot more math classes like calculus 1, 2 and 3 I believe while a nursing degree doesn t require that at all along with physic classes. In other words, you are wasting your time. A lawyer seems to have a good salary becaus of the title but there are lawyers who are having a hard time getting by due to their connection, and there are a lot of hours involved. A licensed architect will earn real money but it takes time, education to do that I believe. You can try www.salary.com to figure out the average. Honestly though, if you want to become a lawyer or an architect, why would you want to become a nurse first to make sure you earn a decent income first unless you don t want to go to law school in the future?!
