Is having a visible tattoo ok for an aspiring lawyer? -

i m planning to get a tattoo on my neck. on the left side of the throat going downwards.. is it ok for me to get it, becuase i m just wondering if having that tat would break my chances of studying law and becoming a lawyer here in the philippines.

i suggest getting a tattoo on your back at your shoulder joint. during your work as a lawyer, your clothes will cover it. but when you are on holiday, you can wear a short sleeve shirt and it will be visible.

Don t know about in the Philippines, but continental US, and europe - you would be severely limiting your client base. You might be able to supervise the paralegals and do other back office functions, but you wont be brought out to meet the clients. In the Far east, depending on the tat, it may help in getting some criminal defense cases, as it will be assumed you have a background. SO ---- either have a hidden tat, change career goal, or accept the limits.

not sure about the philippines, but in the UK and probably the USA you would DEFINATELY be damaging your chances. i would advise you get it somewhere discreet instead.

Considering a lawyer is always in a suit, I would just get it anywhere else! You have plenty of skin that can be inked without it being seen, so why take the chance. Career vs tattoo? I d go with career and keep the tattoos discreet.

I would highly recommend not having ANY visible tatoos if you are considering a job where you will be dealing with clients. Most employers would hold it against you as it doesn t look smart enough. After all, you would be representing your company.

no. sadly it s considered unprofessional. if this is what you want to do for a living you have to decide which you d rather have - a picture on your skin or a career in your chosen field... sorry mate...

well, i don t know about the world, but for me, i wouldn t be comfortable hiring a lawyer with a tattoo..

Is law school FREE in the Philippines? If not - and I m guessing I m right - save your money for law school and alcohol. All lawyers are drinkers but most DON T HAVE TATS. Peace.

Probably not. A tattoo is a negative in most professional careers.

No in the US, I work in an ip law firm and even legal assistants are discouraged from having them

no it s not because then people will think that ur into that and would not even let u studying law i think but trust me i wouldn t let u study law.

Not if you want to be treated as someone who knows something.

Tattoos are fine for aspiring hookers. That s about it.

Not in China.
