How can I fire my lawyer in my mva injury case. Im from Ontario Canada? -

I was in a car accident just over a year ago. I was unable to go back to work as a massage therapist, amp; thus hired a lawyer. They really have not helped me. I try and ask questions, and the answers are short. They expect me to be at beck and call for appointments to determine my injuries, without explaining anything to me. I haven t even met the lawyer, his insurance adjuster met with me, and now she wont reply to my questions, or emails. She now has her assistant email me? I am not getting the help I need for my case. The accident was not my fault, but the fault of the other driver, making an illegal left hand turn. How can I go about firing my lawyer, without having to pay, as my case isn t finished yet?

If you are concerned about your approach to your existing attorney....try finding one that can represent you to your satisfaction. Tell the new attorney that you ve previously used a different attorney, however, you were totally dissatisfied with his performance and demeanor. Your new attorney should be able to contact either orally or my letter informing him that his services are no longer required. Of course you could do the same by just saying...quot;I don t want you anymore!quot; Best wishes.

You need to find another lawyer first. Then your new lawyer will send the old one a letter telling them that they have been released from their duties as your counsel and to remit a bill for any reasonable expenses to them (the new lawyer.) Just make sure that you have that up front that any expenses are to be taken out of the lawyer fees part of the award. Good luck
