Is Everything You Say To Your Lawyer Under Confidentiality? -

Let s say that the client confides in their lawyer about other crimes that they have not been caught for or other things that they have done, not relating to the case in question. Does the lawyer have to sit on that information or are they required to turn it in?

Attorney/client privilege would not allow the attorney to reveal the crimes to law enforcement but they have and can provide clues to the police that could lead to your arrest and conviction, some jurisdictions require an attorney to report information if a person is in eminent danger.~

My understanding is that not all crimes are covered by a confidentiality code, what I have heard is that murder and molesting children are not, am not sure about others, but those two for sure I have heard are not.

The lawyer, once hired, must maintain confidentiality unless you are speaking of committing another crime amp; someone is in eminent danger.

no matter what the conversation is about; they lawyer has to keep things confidental.......as long as he was your hired lawyer

He could be disbarred for doing so. It s the priest that can break it for other crimes.

Why would you talk about crimes not pertaining to the case at hand?
