What happens if a lawyer (barrister or solictior) is arrested and charged with a crime, can he still work ? -

also, does a criminal record prevent a law student from qualifying a lawyer?

he can still work law student will not be prevented from qualifying as a lawyer

Seeing as you are asking the question Im going to assume you are not the law student. If you were Im sure you would simply review your material or ask the professor. I dont think any lawyer can practice law if he is arrested. He is innocent until proven guilty and then they may consider taking his license depending on the crime he is convicted of

Depends on the crime.

depends on crime...drunk driving or serious....if serious / big crime licence will be suspended.

I have a couple friends who are lawyers in Colorado and they have always told me that if they get a DUI they will be dis-barred for it. So I guess it does depend on the crime...

Hello,,a person who wants to be a lawyer would know the answer to that. Can you be a lawyer if you are barred from practicing ? depends on the crime and country.
