Is it easy to go straight to INS to file the papers to legaliz a spouse or should I seek a Immigration lawyer? -

I just want to know, I am intellegent, and i can read fine lines, but would it be better for everyone if I just got the Lawyer first?

I did prepare mine and my husband s citizenship application without hiring an attorney. Yet, in order to avoid any possible mistakes, I had all forms checked by the immigration attorneys provided through the family legal plan at www.bestimmigrationlawyers.com. I would highly recommend this attorney service as it is both inexpensive ($16 per month) and very useful (you d get unlimited attorney consultations and documents review from a leading law firm in your state). I did consult with their legal firm in the state of Texas and their consultations gave me extra assurance that I was filling out the applications correctly. Good luck

if the wife came here with out documents it doesn t matter how smart u are , there would be complications and u should consult a lawyer before attempting anything or relaying in YA . anyways as far as i know if she did enter with out documents then she could be asked to leave for ten years after u apply for her and that its the reason why u need a certified immigration lawyer before attempting anything ... i do wish u luck and i hope a way to grant the undocumented legal status does happen soon , make sure to vote for the right people .

Again as Rider said. You need to have answers to such questions before you actually do anything. If, usually, there are no problem, you may file it youself by reading the instructions carfully and just go step by step.

What do you mean by quot;legalize?quot; What s the spouses status now? How did the spouse get here... with a visa or without a visa? Has the spouse had ANY trouble with the law? It matters.
