What is the right answer to a lawyers question? -

I asked a lawyer to write a collection letter to somebody who owed me money for merchandise I sold to him. I have a business licence and I have all the receipts. The letter cost me $150.00 and the merchandize cost $1200. It took 3 months for the $1200 to get paid. After 4 months the lawyer s secretary called me on the phone and asked me if I got paid. What is the correct response - yes or no?

Unless you wanted to wait it out for the $150.00 you had to spend to get your money, I d consider it paid. You d have to have a court order for attorney fees and, since it didn t go to court, you should be thankful that you didn t spend anymore than you did and got the money that you did.

If you got paid then say yes...He did his part and he only wants to know that that his customer got recourse..

Explain the situation to the caller.

yes You are lucky to have gotten such a good response from his letter. Pay him.

yes would be the honest and therefore desirable response

quot;Yesquot;, of course. I m a little confused.... you say you got paid, so how could you think that quot;Noquot; could possibly be the right answer? (Just as an aside, I wonder why the lawyers office even cares if you got paid or not.) Richard

you got paid didn t you ,yes or no? I would say yes,,is this some sort of trick question?

THERE SHOULD BE NO QUESTION ABOUT THIS. TELL THE TRUTH.

The answer is yes, and he should have charged you up front....

just tell both things
