How do I collect child support without a lawyer when my ex lives in another state? -

My son is four years old now and up until recently I haven t been able to locate the father of my son. I found out he lives in Missouri and I live in Illinois. I m unsure how to go about getting the forms needed and getting the support I need. Someone please help!!

Apply to Illinois Child Support Enforcement. They will work with the Missouri office if necessary. The application form is at the link below.

You have to apply through the division of child and family services in YOUR state. They will ask you to provide as much information about the non-custodial parent/dead-beat dad as possible. At that time you can tell them his state of residence and any other information about him you might have. Good luck!

You need to contact the child support system in your County. The child support division linked with other states and by law IF your child s father is or recently became legally employed, the employer had to enter his information as a new hire and place him in a child support enforcement database. The FBI will get involved and locate him and arrest him and the ball starts rolling from there.

Easier way is to file for Children s Medicaid. In Arkansas, we have Ar Kids and Florida had Fla Kids. This is government assistance for medical insurance. Once you file for this, the Father will start getting charged for whatever money they pay out. They will also go after him for Child Support.

missouri .. can you find out his address? even pay for one of those places online to find out. Go to the Child support office and they will do the work for you. Might be a 1 time fee of $25.. thats it.. its so worth it.

You go to your county DA s Family Support Division--they ll chase him down, take his drivers license, tax refunds, etc. until he pays. You should receive interest on the money as well. GO GET HIM!!
