What A-Levels do I have to do into acheive to become a lawyer can anyone help me please?? -

Currently I am about to choose my A-levels, and I have a goal to become a lawyer and i was wondering if anyone can help me choose my right options to become a lawyer. Many Thanks.

Actually Universities would prefer that you did not have law as an AS or A level subject, this is because the level at which it is taught at his low and does not really benefit you at uni. The obvious subjects would be English Lang or Lit (preferably Lang), History and Psychology. Media studies is never a liked subject in this field, last year a tutor from Queen s Mary came to my college and spoke about law and said that getting an A in Media is like having a B in some other subject (in some ways its true). This because law schools and courses require students that have the ability to think acedemicly and independently. You will always need english at law unless you want to go to a less well known uni that has the course. BUT, many students just do a conversion course which means you can study what ever you want then do law for a year.

The quickest way to qualify is to get a qualifying law degree (LLB) and then either do the Legal Practice Course to become a solicitor or the Bar Vocational Course to become a barrister. Your choice of A-levels doesn t matter that much as long as they are subjects that will be accepted by universities. That is, it does matter in the sense that subjects such as art or media would likely not be accepted by them, but for most universities you don t have to take a specific three or four subjects. I really enjoyed A-level Law and found it helpful but a lot of universities prefer it if you didn t do it. It doesn t make a huge amount of difference though ie you d still be accepted whether you did it or not providing your application and results are good enough. A good subject to take would be history. You could also consider politics, english or a language. It s up to you. Choose something you ll enjoy and be able to do well in.

Hi, As a guy who is on his way to becoming a lawyer I can give you some advice. First: your A levels need to be good . By good I mean good grades. If you are not particuarly academic then you will struggle. You will need at least ABB region to get into a good university (and you need to get into a good university if you want to become a lawyer). The vast majority of law students will have at least 3 As at A level, with 4+As common. After that.. You A levels need to be academic . This means it involves things like logic, essay writing, discussions. Good A levels are: law, history, maths, physics, politics, a language, english language, biology etc. Bad A levels are: art, drama, media etc. Hope this helps

Just do some decent and sturdy A levels...such as, maths/ history/ a science. I definitely don t have to do law at A level to become a lawyer. Indeed you could do a degree in any subject and then take a law conversion course, which is extremely popular. Getting some work experience and demonstrating a real passion for the subject will get you far...

Subjects like English Literature, History, and if it is offered, Government and Politics would be very useful. Maths is just a generally good subject if you can handle it too. Critical Thinking would be a good option, as it shows you can think clearly and logically.

Law, Government and Politics, Economics and then maybe Phiolosophy as it is a difficult A level and impresses unis. Definitely the first three but if not the fourth English, Maths or a language

The 3 best ones for lawyer are A level Lying, Immorality and Deceit.

u shud probs take maths nd law, dunno what else thou!!! talk 2 connections!!!
