How can I tell if a Company/ Lawyer is legit? -

I just want to make sure that a lawyer and his company are legit and we are not getting taken. They have a decent website, but I know those can be easily set up. The location is far from my house so I can t check it out till after I need to retain them. Are there any signs I should look for or a directory to find out if the company has a history? Any info is appreciated Thank you

Call the local Bar Association.

Find your State Bar and enter the name of the attorney. All active members of the State Bar are listed.

If they contacted you, out of the blue, its a scam.
