Can a lawyer trained in the UK practise law in other EU countries? -

If a lawyer who completed a law degree at a Scottish university wants to move to another EU country, can they practise law there? Is it necessary to take some sort of test or sth to do so? P.S. I don t mean practise law in an EU institution, just normal law of the country in question...

You d need to find a law firm that might be tolerant, at first. My sister studied and worked as a paralegal (That s a U.S. position slightly lower than a full degree) in Utah, and got fired from a California job because she wasn t aware of a few minor differences. Good luck!

You would have to do a converstion course, as the laws are different in all EU countries, would have to do a conversion course to work in England as well, as Scottish law is different

I think you would need to study European Law
