Is there a benefit to hiring a Lawyer to recover unpaid wages in California? -

If so, what are they? I know the labor board provides this service .

ok my suggestion is my newly found weapon: http://locate-power-of-attorney.info/ It s a site that has Lawyers subscribed to it. It s free to do. You shoot off your case and their lawyers are shown the info, then they might choose to take it or not and quote you a price, then you choose who you go with. You get to thoroughly check the lawyer s backgrounds etc, it s good because you just spend 15 minutes with the site and that is it. You could have a choice of a few lawyers.

I would go to my local wage and labor board. They can look into for you and not charge you. I had a problem when an employer from long ago refused to pay me saying that I never returned the keys. Of course i returned them. He gave that reason not to pay me. I went to the labor board they phoned him and informed him he had to pay me minus the new key charge (about $20.00). I was paid within 5 days.

You can sue anyone......for anything........for any amount.............. as long as you can afford it..............

I don t know the laws in California... but I know someone who does. If interested... feel free to send me an email... and I will respond. Good luck to you!
