You want to study public affairs when you go to college. There you will find study courses in criminal law. Do not confuse this with courses in being a paralegal.
College is next. Even if you start in a Community College, get the academic basics out of the way. Then University, with a major in Law. Once you are close to a law degree, you can start interning in a law office. By the time you are through with your first couple of semesters, you will have decided on what branch of Law you want to focus on; Criminal or Corporate, etc. You then pass the bar exam, and can start practicing law. Good Luck.
Find a university in your area that has a good pre-law program and work hard. Your counselor should set you on the right path. You need to maintain a good GPA and extracurriculars so that you can get into a good law school. Keep good contacts with people in the business and make sure that your professors know you well so that you can get good letters of recommendation. Once you graduate, you can take the LSATs and try to get an internship. Make sure you pick a good law school and don t get frustrated when you finally take the Bar because almost no one passes the first time. It is a long path, but a lucrative and rewarding career so it s well worth it. Good luck!
You need to get an undergrad degree first, but don t worry so much about pre-law or especially majoring in law (which is useless!). If you can get an undergrad with good pre-law advisors that will probably help, as they ll have good advice when it comes time to apply for law school. Major in something that interests you and get good grades. If you are a science minded person, I highly recommend doing a natural science major, it will make you stand out a bit, as most applicants will be humanities majors. Whatever you do though, take some good english classes (probably required for your degree anway) and learn how to express yourself better in writing. In addition, do some extra curriculars or volunteer work. Getting leadership positions would be nice, but any volunteer stuff will help.
1) Go to college. You need a college degree to be considered for law school 2) Apply to law school
First you have to graduate from college in any subject. Next you take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Then you waste 3 years learning nothing in law school. After that you take a commercial cram course for the Bar exam. Most people pass on the first try. The CPA test is the hard one. If you pass, you re a lawyer. The only thing you will know about practicing law is what you have learned from watching TV. Law school is that useless.
make a pact with the devil lol
Go to college. Get good grades and earn your bachelor s degree. In your last year of college take your LSAT and apply to ABA Accredited law schools. Hope and pray you get admitted. After you earn your Juris Doctorate apply to admission to the state bar in which you wish to practice. In the last week of July you will have to take the bar exam over a two or three day period. After you pass the bar exam your application will be reviewed by a character and fitness committee and if they deem you worthy they will grant you admission to the bar.
