Can you get a court appointed lawyer for a child custody case? -

We can t afford a lawyer and legal aid won t help me.

I had a court appointed lawyer assigned to me when I had to go to Family Court. I think it is done according to income and the decision of the judge. Different states may have different rules about who is allowed to have one. Perhaps you could Google this to see what is done in your state.

no government paid lawyers are only available when the government is the party bringing the action -- in criminal court.

Not in TX, depends on the laws where you are.
