Has anyone been successful finding a pro bono lawyer in NJ? -

My husband and I desperately need a lawyer for a family court matter, and we can t afford to pay anything. People say you have to call Legal Aid (did that, they wouldn t help) or get out the yellow pages and just start calling (did that, didn t find any for less than $750). So I was wondering, has anyone been successful finding low-cost or free legal representation? How did you do it?

try poking around on www.probono.com might get lucky; but odds are family court matters aren t the types of cases that many lawyers want to get involved in for nothing.

maybe try the website www.findlaw.com they may be able to match an attorney to your needs. Have you asked the Judge to maybe appoint you an attorney because you can not afford one.
