Depends on the student both with respect to grades and with the type of law firm he is willing to article at. When I finished law school I d say between 85-90% of students landed an articling position. But that includes people who were willing to take jobs that paid ridiculously low salaries. If the goal is to get a good job (at one of the seven sisters or at least on Bay St) than competition is very high. If the goal is just any law firm than getting a job is pretty much guaranteed.
