What is the fastest way for a new lawyer to make money? -

Thinking about starting a practice right out of school. Need to know the fastest way to get paying clients and what types of cases are the most profitable.

To make money and meet clients I would contact an insurance agency and ask if you could collect their unpaid subrogation clauses for a percentage. When the contract is signed there is sometimes a clause that says if the person has to use the insurance money then if they are awarded any money in court for the action causing the use of the insurance then they will pay the company back the amount they paid. Ignore MLMs and referral schemes. Work hard, get good grades, and be very social - you need to get out in public, join organizations like Kiwanis and Rotary, and not be afraid to work long hours for relatively low fees, at least at first. Certainly personal injury cases can be lucrative, but they take a while to settle. But what you need to do is assess the market where you are, and find out what specialty is in need: is it divorce, criminal, IP? Any or all can work.

Honest money? Be a waitress.

Represent a celebrity who has committed a crime. Even if you don t win, you ll be famous and others will hire you.

Be an ambulance chaser. They make loads of money. You d probably want to start by being an associate with an already established practice. After you get some experience under your belt, go out on your own.
