What is it like to be a lawyer? -

Well, im a 2nd year business major and im seriously considering pursuing a career in law (specifically corporate or tax law). I was wondering what is the best way to find out what the life a lawyer entails, what you do specifically, im more concerned with the job details and quot;work lifequot; , i understand the impact being an attorney has on personal life. Anyone got any good sites or even better yet any lawyers on here to tell me their experiences? Thanks !

It s very competitive. For every 1 engineering graduate there are 100 lawyers coming out of school. Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket and noticed that within a week you have letters from over 10 lawyers willing to help you turn it into just a court fee? Out of aw school you ll start out at about $50,000. A bachelor s in engineering will start you out at $60,000.

Warning: Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!!! This is not a good field to invest in! We simply have WAY TOO MANY attorneys - there is a GLUT of lawyers! Suggestion: Look into the field of Healthcare! LOTS of jobs there ! (especially with your background!) and scholarships! Good luck.

The best way I think for you to learn is to get an internship at a law firm or work as a file clerk at one that is somehow related to business you like. This way you learn about what lawyers do and get internship credit as a business major.
