What is a reasonable salary range expectation for a foreign/expatriate lawyer in Thailand? -

I am considering employment with an international law firm that has offices in Thailand. I intend to bring my wife and 2 kids. How much would I need to survive with some decent amount of savings but is, at the same time, within normal salary ranges in Thailand for an expatriate?

I ve worked in HR field recruiting IT people for about 4 years. I have never countered an assignment for expat lawyer before. However, I would believe that a good expat lawyer could something in between 70k-120k depending on your firm as well. I would assume you have housing allowance so you can cut this out from your budget planning. With 2 kids, you might need to set aside 1k for live in nanny who could speak little English and trust worthy. If you are lucky she would share house work with your wife too. Good schooling system generally is international school with high reputation. This can cost around 100k per semester. I would also assume your firm takes care of this if they want you to relocate. Otherwise your salary should cover this. To have a comfortable lifestyle in Bangkok with your family, I would say you need to generate at least 100k/month. While in Bangkok, might wanna checkout packages tours and daily tours at http://www.gay2thai.com. While the site features gay tours, they are also tours none-gay can enjoy. Keep in mind that all walk in rates for entry ticket general more expensive than online purchase since once you are at the entrance, you are sure to enter. This is why it’s more expensive if you don’t book ahead.

i would say take enough money with yourself
