Better chance of getting a job as a lawyer or a neuropsychologist? -

Not a money hungry typical lawyer like 90% of law students want to be, but a public service lawyer. Do you think I stand a better chance at getting that kind of job? Or do you think Id find more employment opportunities as a neuropsychologist? Im trying to decide whether to take the LSATs or the GREs. Thanks :)

You would probably find more job opportunities as a psychologist. Having said that, you should not choose your career based solely on that occupation s employment rates. You should pick something you would like to do even if you weren t getting paid for it.

Unless your law degree is from a prestigious school then you are better off being a neuropsychologist. I know plenty of lawyers out of work. Actually many of those out of work lawyers ended up working for the government - but not as lawyers. Thanks Bill

It really depends on what you want to do. If you really have a passion for the law then go to law school. If you could go either way then your bet might be with neuropsychology, as it probably has more jobs out there. You should pick which one interests you more. If it helps, check out www.bls.gov, it will show you the median salaries for people nine months out of graduation. For lawyers the median salary is $60,000 ($85,000 in private practice), psychologists were around $69,000. So, it really depends on what you want to do.
