What type of lawyer should I see? -

My husband and I own a restaurant. We took out a loan to purchase it. Our home, the equipment in the restaurant, and a piece of land are the collateral for the loan. We have been struggling for quite some time and would like to shut the doors forever; however, we don t want to lose our home for defaulting on the loan. I d like to see a lawyer to take a look at our contract and see what we can do. What type of lawyer would I need to see? Thank you.

Need to see an attorney who specializes in Contract law. Usually commercial lawyers and Real Estate lawyers specialize in this particular area. You can go to the martindale hubbell website to locate an attorney in your area. A/B rating of an attorney or law firm is the best ranking.

You really need to be careful here, contract lawyer or you might go seek out a good bankruptcy attorney. That might be the only way out to keep your home.

Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask them for names of attorneys that handle your type of matter. Good luck.
