All the 14 lawyers I work for, make well over this amount and then some. I have been a Paralegal for 19 yrs and I make good money, and am a Sr. Paralegal........ I alone make $11,000.00 per month.......plus if I have to travel out of state for a trial or to interview witnesses, I get 500.00 per day that I am away on the trip, plus they pay all my expenses.....so yes I would say its a great profession, if you get into the right law firm, I have been with this firm for 17 yrs.. the legal field is a great one to get into. go for it.......all of my attorneys top over 3 millon plus a year....each, some more....
I don t know what 100,000 pounds = in american dollars, but if you specialize here (personal injury) average salary is 30%-45% of the amount awarded to the client. My lawyer got $35,000 of my settlement. and he was a busy guy. Probably made about a million a year after expenses.
Get pictures now! (well, in daylight). If you mean there are not any signs saying quot;No Trespassingquot;, you need that proof. If there were signs, and you mean that you thought the construction workers gave you permission anyway, well... you have a problem. You might try to remember who you spoke to (or at least the name of the concrete company) to get some evidence. At 19, this probably doesn t mean a lot to you now - just a ticket, after all, fine and court costs worst case. However, this may also tail you for the rest of your life in answering questions like quot;have you ever been (arrested for, cited for, charged, indicted) convicted or pleaded no contest to...quot; from employers, schools, military, concealed weapon permit and other license applications, etc. This is what is called a collateral consequence. I recommend you hire a lawyer to represent you, or at least talk to a lawyer (in NC, of course) before you have to appear in court or pay a fine. The publice defender s office might help, but they are usually too busy dealing with felonies and quot;more seriousquot; issues to give you the time you need.
Does North Carolina have the death penality? If so you do. Just kidding! We are talking a pretty minor infraction. I am guess the max fine is a lot less than the cost of an attorney. Be very polite to the judge. Where some nice clothes. If you don t own a suit, you don t need to go out and buy one. But wear clean, non-holely clothes. Pants that doesn t show your underwear. Take the piercings out of your face, and return your hair color to a natural one. Don t wear a hat. (e.g. don t show up looking like a skateboarder) Be very polite to the judge. Applogize for what happened. Don t argue. Don t blame the construction workers or bad mouth the cop. Did I mention be very polite to the judge.
Don t mess around. Talk to a criminal defense attorney in NC. It will be worth a couple of hundred dollars to keep your record clean. http://www.targetlaw.com/pages/results.p...
I am not sure your exact situation but I know its not your job to do anything other then what the judge says (interperating fact and then applying fact to legal principles) even if it turns to a crappy result... Dont feel bad about it its not your fault or your job to worry about why someone has the better side... You can only see what you see (and its this design that makes the system work)
You did exactly what the legal system required of you. Who cares that the guy was a lawyer and had better evidence? There are places where you can get free or cheap legal representation, even in Civil Law cases, which it sounds like this probably was. Both of them had the chance to get representation and obtain evidence, and if the lawyer s evidence was better, so what? What s with people always making stereotypes? Lawyers are not all bad and they are not all rich!
You did your job, which was make your decision based on the evidence. Maybe you could channel some of that angry energy into working on legal reforms for the poor. Just a thought.
That s just the way the system works. It isn t always right.
You might get an answer if you asked this in Yahoo Canada Answers. Just click the flag at the bottom of the page and you are there. Your dad is smart not telling you what he makes. I can think of a lot of reasons for not telling.
Well i am not sure how they work it out in Ny but some of the lawyers here in PA takes a % of what you sold the apartment/house for...

Many attorneys will accept credit cards (but not all). Others may work out payment plans - but for a retainer, ordinarily, you ll need to put up some cash.
The retainer is the deposit to cover the estimated fee for the lawyers time, and legal costs of the action. If you don t have the full amount of the retainer immediately, most lawyers will work out a payment plan with you.
