Is there such thing as an animal rights lawyer? -

I am thinking of becoming either a lawyer or a professor of English. I don t want to be a criminal lawyer, though, and I really love and care about animals.

Of course; there is a lawyer for everything...seriously. I would recommend that you do become an Animal Rights Lawyer because I too love animals and they need more protection in this harsh world of ours! Best of Luck to you!

Only if you can have animals as clients. It s not like they can pay you, so you would have to do all your cases pro-bono which means you wouldn t stay in business very long. Seriously, I don t see how that would work. You can t sue on behalf of an animal since animals are just legally considered property, and it s a prosecutor s job to bring any criminal charges against those who abuse them. But perhaps you can become a criminal lawyer, and then donate some of your time and resources to the A.S.P.C.A. They do have a law enforcement division now and I m sure they can use free legal advice from time to time.

If there isn t then why not become the first. This is a much neglected area when it comes to rights so GO FOR IT.

If there is, someone needs to reassess their career choices.
