No, you need to be good at creating doubt in the minds of average people. quot;If the glove doesn t fit, you must acquit.quot; Brilliant! It may not seem honest but the glove was a key piece of evidence linking O.J. to the murder, the defense created quot;reasonable doubtquot;, here you have a bloody glove in O.J. s yard, with the victim s DNA on it and it clear didn t fit on his hand, it sort of looked like someone planted it. ure maybe the glove shrunk (I ve never had a glove shrink) or O.J. s hand grew, but it really looked way to small for him, all the other evidence was also explainable, even if far-fetched. Nothing about that was a lie.

I m gonna say YES! My reason for saying that is because my husbands family has 4 lawyer s in it and they are the biggest liars I have ever seen. They don t care if the person is guilty or not. Money is all that matters to them. I m not saying all lawyer s are this way. I m sure their are some that are very legitimate.
because their obsessed with money and thats all their thinking about. S A D x x x x
lawyers that defend the quot;not so innocentquot; are probably the best lawyers because they can make a murder scene look like a mere accident. those kind of lawyers dont tell the jusr exatly what happened but try as much as possible to twist the story to make the persecuted look innocent.
thats what lawyers do thats there job just like your job
No, I do not think you need to be a good liar to be a good lawyer. Just the opposite. Lawyers defend clients they know to be guilty because the constitution of the United States and every state in this country guarantee a fair trial and, for felony charges, a lawyer to represent you if you cannot afford one. Implicit in the constitutional right to a lawer is the right to an effective lawyer, that is one who will represent their client with skill. A lawyer who who will put the state to its burden of proof, a burden the state has in every case. It is not unethical to make the state bear its burden of proof in a criminal case. Lawyers who know their clients are guilty may not do certain things within the rules of professional responsibility. For instance, they cannot call a witness that they know will lie on the stand, nor can they say to the jury quot;My client is an innocent manquot; when they know that is not true. What a lawyer can do is tell the jury that the state has the burden of proof and if they do not meet it, their duty is to acquit, even if they think the defendant is probably guilty. In this country, probably is not close enough. A person is presumed innocent unless the state proves the person is guilty beyond every reasonable doubt. You may not like the results in some cases (like O.J) and I may not either. But the safeguards that are given to the truly guilty, are the same ones that keep the innocent free. So, thank God tonight for our system of justice, that presumes a person to be innocent, that prevents the police from coming into our homes at any time, without or without cause, that protects us against coercive interrogation tactics, that prevents persons from being punished excessively. It is just one thing that makes this country great!
a lawyers job is not to lie to defend his client, it is actually to use the clues to show that he did not do that, or he might have not done it. AND that is how a lawyer does his job. In another way, a lawyers job is to twist the truth using evidence. if he builds doubt then he has won the case.
its all about the money, unfortunately.
You are generalizing lawyers. In reality 98.7% of them give the rest a bad name.
dunno sorry,
no you do not lie to defend someone you just prove ways in how to help them lower their sentence ok i mean you cant help everyone ok :) xxx
let me start by saying tht a lawyers job is not to lie but to put doubt in the mind of the judge/jury a murder can not be convicted if there is reasonable doubt and if u can prove or put doubt in a the mind of a judge tht ur dog did not tear down ur nieghbours fence them im pretty sure they cant be convicted either so in lame mans term the just need to show flaws in the other party s story (im tlkin only about defense lawyers here since ur Q is more aimed at them and geitn people off the hook) you dont have to b a good liar in fact my opinion is tht lawyers dont lie rather they find ways to answer truthfully or find a loop hole in the question and asnwer tht for example if u were to ask me quot;do u knw who the Beatles arequot; one could say yes they r a band or not know them at all now if i was in court and this was asked to me i would say No (even thou i knw they are a band)the reason being i know OF them i know WHAT THEY DO and WHOS IN THE BAND but i dnt KNOW THEM (personally or anything a bout them where they grew up etc) so technically im not lying im just not answering the meaning u had wen asking the question and if i got caught doing this its easy to say wel i mis understood ur Q thus i woudl not get in trouble its just like wen ur teacher says to u knw phones in class well the key word is phoneS id bring my phone into class and not phoneS thus i would no be breaking the school rule
no I like my Lairs dark and spooky on the outside . Lawyers need to be happy and sunny on the outside and dark and scary on the inside.
You need to be able to keep a straight face if you practice law, but it s not so much about being a good lier, but being good at convincing people to see it your way. You may be trying to tell them that even though your client did this, he was unstable, or it was a crime of passion and he should therefore only be charged with manslaughter. You see? You don t have to lie, you just need to find ways to make your side seem better, even if they did do something wrong. And keep in mind, not all lawyers deal with criminals, there are all kinds of lawyers and many do good work, if they work for the government, they can help put nasty people in jail, environmental lawyers fight for the earth, and family lawyers just deal with things like divorce, they make it easier for the husband and wife because that way they don t have argue face to face about things and it makes it easier on the kids. So there probably are A LOT of lawyers in heaven.
No but it helps to be a good speller.
not all lawyers are criminal lawyers. many deal with family law, civil law, real estate, and dozens of other specialties that have nothing to do with defense of criminals. you re talking about a minority here. don t lump everyone into one category.
unfortunately , to be a lawyer , a politician , a mediatic your first skill must be lying .... Thanks
