If you have a basic law degree in France, you can go for 1-year LLM. If you have a basic degree, but not in Law, you can go for a 3-year JD program. If you do not have any degree, then you need to do a basic degree first, before going for JD. Very hard to get into Harvard. Quite good in English may not be sufficient. You need to be very good in English to be a successful lawyer in US. After the academic program, you need to sit for a Bar Exam. In the US, different states have deffierent Bar Exams because you qualify for license to practice in that state only. You can sit for NY Bar Exam, for example. The bar exam preparation takes another few months if you are good. Otherwise, you take the exam again and again till you pass.
if you are REALLY smart and have good grades, the supposedly best college is Harvard. You have to apply for the school and have enough money to pay if you dont have a scolarship
You must first pursue a bachelor s degree (economics, political science, and history are common). Towards the end of your bachelor s degree, you must take the LSAT examination. This examination determines, along with your grade point average (GPA), the quality of law school to which you will be accepted. And once accepted into law school, three years of studying is the norm. Law School Rankings: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/ra...
