Is it too late for me to pursue a career to become a lawyer at the age of 32? -

I am 32 and soon to be 33. Is it too late for me to pursue a career to become a lawyer? I know that you have to have a bachelors degree before you go to law school. I am thinking about going back to college to get a bachelors degree. What should my major be if I want to go to law school after finishing my bachelors degree?

No, you will be about 39 when you finish, which is fine. I started law school at that age, and while I had no intention of practicing law, I was not the oldest one in my class, and several of my classmates DID practice after passing the Bar. Just don t expect to easily find a job in a big law firm. You are more likely to end up as a sole practitioner or working in a small firm, or for a government agency (which does mean that you won t be getting as much money as the younger students). As to what to major in, find something you like. Law schools don t need you to have a particular major. It could be anything from English to science to accounting. They do want you to demonstrate that you can read massive amounts of material, and can write well, but beyond that, don t listen to those who tell you it MUST be political science or pre-law.

No it s never to late and I think it s awesome what your wanting to do. There was a man awhile back on our local news who was taking his grandchild to 1st grade everyday. He became friends with this teacher. He was something like 80 years old. The teacher offered to teach him how to read he never had the chance to go to school and learn what most of us know. He struggled his whole life not being able to read anything. He became a new member of the 1st grade class and when they showed his storey on the news he was getting his GED thanks to this teacher and school. So it s never to let for education! Congrat s on what your wanting to do I wish you the best...

A close friend of mine who is now 45 just graduated and is working as a county prosecutor. Its never too late to complete your education. However you will be competing in a job market with a bunch of young people who can afford to take entry level jobs for a while. You have to decide if you can afford to do that, especially since you haven t completed the pre-law requirements.

it s never too late. you re getting a late start, but if that s what you want to be, go for it.

Nope. as long as you don t mind taking 8 years of college and then the bar exam as well as taking an internship to a firm.

its never to late to learn go ahead and get your bachelors then decide what u want to do after the first step. there r grannies aged 91 that just completed schooling so dont be shy go 4 it
