I am not sure of the time frame they need to answer by. But the situations I have been in, they respond almost immediately. It doesn t sound like your lawyer is too active with your situation. If I were you, I would get a little more aggresive w/them and find out what is going on. Let them know that you aren t happy and you want some results yesterday!!!!! Good luck w/all of this. I know it is all a pain in the butt.
It can vary from state to state. Some states like MA require the adjuster to RESPOND to the demand within 30 days, otherwise the claimant can file a Bad Faith claim. It is entirely possible that adjuster is still trying to secure all of the needed medical documentation from your providers. This can take awhile since they do not have any direct control over the providers. Continue to call your attorney, and find out if his demand package has been acknowledged.
usually your attorney will have a specified time in the demand that the insurance company as to comply with. This is normally 30 days.
It sounds like to me you need to start getting aggressive with your lawyer usually these types of problems are resolved with in 2 month period so someone is dragging there feet and you need to find out who it is also ask your lawyer in the letter did he set a time frame and if not ask him can we submit a time frame and if he says no then look for another lawyer.
