What are the possibilites of me and my sentence going with a lawyer? -

what consequneces will I be subject to have to go with a private lawyer that to represent me vice versus going alone? this is my first offense DUI offense.

DUI is a big deal and to show up without one tells the judge you don t feel that it is. You may be concerned about the cost. If convicted it will cost much plus even for a first it can mean a few days in jail and some serious license suspension. It will also mean that your insurance will go up for years. It will show on background checks. A lawyer might be able to work something out in regard to reduction, probation or whatnot. So pay for a lawyer now or pay 10 times more later.

get an atty. for sure.

As much as I hate lawyers I have to say find yourself a damn good one it will be cheaper in the long run !

Get a good attorney. Went through this same scenario. With an attorney, especially a good one, law enforcement may be reluctant to show up in public safety hearing, so you ll get to keep your license from being suspended. If you have multiple offenses with the DUI such as speeding, wreckless driving, failure to maintain control, etc., your attorney may have you plead guilty to one of those offenses in order to get the DUI dropped. Also, a year after your sentencing, you can have your lawyer get your first offense DUI expunged off of your record for insurance purposes. GET A LAWYER!

You have no choice. Get an attorney.

it s a trade off. having no lawyer will cost you big time. hiring a lawyer will cost you big time. better to go with the lawyer though. really. with a lawyer, you may avoid license suspension, and long hours at drug and alcohol awareness classes (which you must pay for, and they are not cheap).
