I am not states so my answer would be different than the other answers...i myslef is a lawyer..here we can start studying law after schooling for 14 years...it means we become double bachelors...the degree is of just 4 years and the bar takes just 6 months after taking pupilage period under any senior advocate(like house job doctors do for one year), this is a fantastic career job and it depends on your own PR, you earn more n more when you get cases more n more(if doing it individually) but if you go for joining any firm than you must agree with their terms and conditions. there are several types of lawyers exp: criminal, civil, labour, services, corporate etc etc...what is most powerful and earn worthy type is Criminal and than comes the corporate. i wish you best of luck.
Most people take 8 years of scool and then then take the bar. How much? Well how good of a lawyer do you want to become? Differend School different prices.
The first guy is right, about eight years. However, the bar is very difficult. Here in cali. way less than half pass it there first time. Salary ranges from a good ammount to a ridiculus ammount. Check Yahoo hotjobs and youll find a lot of stuff there.
well, idont know but being a lawyer or a doctor makes you earn lots of money in the U.S.
Graduating from law school generally takes about 3 years. Then you will spend 2 months studying for the Bar Exam of the state in which you want to practice. This is the quot;hardestquot; part of becoming a lawyer, since it all comes down to whether you can pass that test. As far as salary earned, this varies greatly depending on the type of law you want to practice and the hours with which you are willing to work. For instance, attorneys who work for the government or as public defenders tend to make less than those of us in private practice. This does not make them better or worse lawyers. So the answer is, you can make as little as nothing (many lawyers do) to very high salaries if you attend a good law school, get good grades, pass the Bar, and then work at a big firm. If you told me what law you wanted to practice, I could give you a better sense of what the range might be, but it does vary greatly. Good luck in your pursuits.
ehow has good info on this and other careers.
