When you put the first downpayment on buying a condo as your lawyer draws up the contract. when you 1st ? -

downpayment goes into escrow. is it cashed or not cashed buy the lawyer or seller?

As soon as the offer is accepted then the check to bind the offer is then cashed, the second check that you give upon signing the purchase and sales agreement is usually cashed as well.
