I want to know do I need to hire a specialized lawyer or should I take my chances with a public defender? -

I was charged with aggraveted driving while revoked. They are using 2 past occurences while driving suspended, and are trying to give me a deal where I have to spend 45 days in jail. My question is would a real lawyer keep me out of jail all together and also reduce the charge from a felony to a misdemenor? If there is any insight out there please let me know.

Here is the thing about public defenders.....you can get the worst one in the world or the best. A paid lawyer can t get you a better deal than a public defender can, the deal they are offering is up to the DA. What a paid attorney is better for is a trial because they have more access to expert witnesses and things like that (which you would have to pay for). A plea bargain is a plea bargain. Depending on how close together your charges were, they probably won t let you plea down. You want some legal advice? Stop driving with a revoked license.

sounds like you have no regard for the law and are headed for jail sooner or later anyway, probably multiple times once you cross over the threshold the first time. so do what you want to do - don t blame us for bad advice. we would have advised you not to do any of the things that got you here - we are not taking responsibility for your outcome now.
