What is the best way to terminate a contract between a lawyer and his client? -

I haved hired an attorney and yet I am not happy how he conduct his practice. I need to know if there s a way out, even though we are finally reach to the negotiating point with the other party, they are ready to settle. Is this going to be a problem?

The best thing for you to do is go see another lawyer and let him know, he will then call your previous lawyer which will dismiss/turn over your case to the current lawyer. but you will be stiffed (stucked) with the bill of the first lawyer (may be ridicilously large amount or not), so just make sure that this is what you want to do before you do it. Good Luck

With another lawyer

If the lawyer accepted your case on a contingency basis I believe you would still be required to pay the lawyer for all work performed prior to being terminated as your lawyer. If you want to terminate your relationship, send him/her a certified letter with return receipt requested so that you have it in writing.
