Get a bachelor s degree. Get a law degree. Pass the bar. Get hired at law firm.
First thing you need to do is decide what type of law you would be interested in practicing. After H.S you can go off to any four year college and major in anything you like. Then apply for law school which is only three years. However I can tell you from experience if you major lets just say in criminal law in college when you go off to law school you should fly. People say that when applying to law school they look to see diversity. Meaning you majored in history or english. Becoming a lawyer will require you to know the english language well, be a good researcher and writer. I would make sure to take typing, writing classes as electives and short hand if it is available at your high school. These are things that will become indespesible to you. I graduated from john jay college of criminal justice in nyc and then went on to campbell university law school in north carolina.
first you need a bachelors degree before applying to law school. I believe law school is like 3 years. the standardized test used for admission to law school is called the LSAT. look into that. law schools look for people with good decision making skills, judgment, and application of logic. so major in related fields like political science, some schools even have a specialized track called pre-law. or you can do philosophy, classics, english literature, pretty much anything that you think will help you in law school. do things step by step, since you re just in high school now, you need to concentrate on getting into a good 4 year university first. after that you can start thinking about which law school you want to go to etc. good luck.
Start thinking of what Universities to apply for. You need really high grades while in high school. My brother is a lawyer for a firm in Toronto, Canada and he spent 8 years in university to become a corporate lawyer. He spent 4 years for his undergrad in the University of Western and another 4 in Queen s in Kingston. You also need to get your bar admission and spend a year as lawyer in training before you get your bar admission (I think thats what he did I can t remember) which you can take in Toronto. But the bar admission test is very difficult. You need very high grades to officially become a lawyer.
well, you should probably take some courses relating to pre-law maybe psychology, pre-law, speech class, critical thinking, government etc... you would need these skills to become an effective lawyer. so if your community colleges offer course like these, i advise you to take them. you should look at pre-law and find out other courses you need to take to become a lawyer
Get a degree in basically anything. you could major in tv watching and go to law school. have a decent gpa. have an even better LSAT. when it comes to law school gpa is not as relevant as the LSAT. DO NOT TAKE PRE-LAW CLASSES Law school is for teaching you Law. THAT s why your major is basically irrelvant.
hey, im doing law, they like you to have some volentary work in a lawyers office or such thing, and sitting in on cases will really heighten your knowlege. and the volentary work could lead to a permanent placement in the ferm once you obtain your degree hope that helped xx
Consider what it might feel like to try to convince a jury to put someone you know is a rapist, back on the streets to do it again. If you re a sensitive person, don t do it, it s a dirty job, even though most lawyers wear nice clean suits.
-improve public speaking abilities (be a part of debate team, practice oral presentations, etc...) -improve knowledge on constitutional law (law club, AP Government, etc...)
go to a good law school because it opens up more doors to good firms..after that, the rest is up to you to be a good lawyer... i think?
Study hard now , and aim for the best results possible , apply to lots of collages offering law , and keep up the study ,
Get into a good law school. Before then, take some classes about law your school offers.
Treat everyone like a schmuck and charge extortionately for everything you do and you re half way there!
Go and study law, it takes a lot book reading. But its very interesting thing.
